Dental Technician

Are you an experienced Dental Ceramist with a passion for producing exceptional aesthetic restorations? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding dental laboratory in West Suffolk, seeking a talented Ceramist to join their highly skilled team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dental Technician who takes pride in delivering outstanding quality across a diverse range of NHS, private and implant cases. Working alongside experienced CAD/CAM technicians and clinicians, you’ll play a key role in producing premium restorations that achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

While experience with digital workflows and CAD/CAM software is advantageous, this position is primarily focused on high-quality ceramic layering, finishing and aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality ceramic restorations, including crowns, bridges, veneers and implant restorations.
  • Layer, stain and glaze restorations to achieve outstanding aesthetic and functional results.
  • Work confidently with zirconia, IPS e.max and other modern restorative materials.
  • Assess cases for shade, morphology and occlusal requirements.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure restorations meet both laboratory and clinician expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with the CAD/CAM team to ensure seamless integration between digital design and ceramic finishing.
  • Provide technical expertise on complex aesthetic and implant cases.
  • Communicate effectively with clinicians regarding treatment planning, shade selection and technical requirements.
  • Maintain accurate case records and consistently meet agreed turnaround times.
  • Support continuous improvements in laboratory processes, quality standards and workflow efficiency.

About You

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Dental Ceramist within a laboratory environment.
  • Strong background in producing high-quality ceramic restorations for crown and bridge work, including implant cases.
  • Excellent understanding of dental anatomy, morphology, occlusion and aesthetics.
  • Experience working with layered ceramics, zirconia and IPS e.max restorations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to delivering consistently high standards.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Desirable

  • Experience using Exocad, 3Shape or similar dental CAD software.
  • Knowledge of digital dentistry workflows and intra-oral scanning.
  • Experience working within a private or cosmetic dental laboratory.
  • Previous experience with implant restorations.
  • Experience attending clinician consultations and shade-matching appointments.
