Farm vet job: no small animal, no equine, no camelids.
Location: Worcester area, West Midlands, England, 35 mins from Birmingham city centre.
1-in-4 rota (to clarify, this means working one fixed night a week and one weekend every 4 weeks): always 2 vets on call, day off in the following week after working a weekend. Normal working week is 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday. No Saturday morning surgeries. If it’s your weekend off, you finish on Friday at 5pm.
Salary: it really does depend on experience. £28,000 – 60,000 including benefits and extra pay when you get called out if you are on duty at night/weekends.
28 days holiday, private health insurance, pension, and an epic Christmas party (been told that we come across as “too social”). Competitive salary, OOH bonuses, and local accommodation available.
Fully kitted out vehicles, scanners, bull and ram fertility testing kits, foot-trimming crushes, regular farmer meetings, handling systems.
RCVS accredited practice (our client provides an excellent service and looking after their vets is equally important). The practice also got three Practice Standards Awards at Outstanding (and it is the only practice in the country to have done so).
Dogs welcome although they have their own emotional support dogs on site (2 golden retrievers, an Aussie and a labradork)
Lots of regular in-house practical CPD: our client believes in training all their vets to do as much as possible. They will consider all reasonable requests for CPD.
It is a fast-growing practice and needs more vets to meet the amount of farm work they have. And yes, they are 100% independent, not corporate, no links to vet groups.
